Can i have an Explanation of sound cards and Graphics cards?

'Discuss the type of graphics cards and sound cards that are available and considerations that should be given before the purchase of either'?????

Can i have an Explanation of sound cards and Graphics cards?
First, if you list your pc model number this would eliminate people having to guess what you have and having to list every single possibility, and what their advantages are....you can do that in a web search engine.....that is just allot of ground to cover....

If your wanting to buy a new pc, mention that as well...maybe even a model number your looking at. What are you trying to accomplish? Are you a video editor, a gamer, if you dont do any intense tasks on your pc you wont gain anything from either one....

If you have some more specific info, feel free to email me....
Reply:Video cards like - vga, agp, pci

Whats the best sound cards and graphic cards for windows vista?
hi sandra

depending on your budget theres plenty of sound and graphic cards to choose from however if you allow yourself a budget of £100 then you could get these

the HIS ATI Radeon X1650 Pro 512MB DDR2 TV-Out/DVI (AGP) from http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduc... a brilliant graphics card for it price,i knew you used a agp graphics interface as the fx5200 only came in the agp interface

the ATI Radeon X1650 has some amazing specifications including a 587mhz clock speed and a 512MB-128bit 4 channel DDR2 memory running at 800MHz

and with its ICEQ cooling system this will look the part in any p.c,and of course its 100% vista compatible

nopw for your sound card, with just £36 left of your £100 budget you would normally start to worry, however dont, for a great pci sound card the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio 7.1 Sound Card from http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduc... a great audio device, its audio processor is one of the best around, with 24-Bit/96kHz 7.1 sound, the one thing you will notice about this card is the crispness of the sound, explosions sound like explosions and a gunshot will crack like the real thing, this is a awesome soundcard and combined with the ATI Radeon X1650 this will produce a massively improved gaming experience

any problems let me know

good luck sandra !
Reply:the bin it sound
Reply:None vista is rubbish go back to the trusted xp.
Reply:To be honest, what graphic card you should have depends a lot on what you use your computer for.

Do you play any games? I mean graphically intensive games like Halflife, F.E.A.R. or Bioshock? If not, you really don't need a monster graphics card.

As far as sound goes, you can never go wrong with the Creative Soundblaster
Reply:how much money have you got? just buy the best you can afford.

Is there a Free program that auto detects sound cards?

Im not sure if I even have one. Its for a gatway E series.

Is there a Free program that auto detects sound cards?
Windows autodetects your soundcard in most cases. You can also check the support section of Gateway's website.

Wut are the names and prices of the absolute beast video and sound cards?
Well if you want best get an 8800 ultra and an x-fi xtreme gamer soundcard. If you want awesome that is almost as good as the best (like within 5% performance) get the 8800gts 512mb and stick with onboard sound. The 8800 Ultra is 500-600 bucks, and the 8800gts is 250-300 bucks, but they are almost exactly the same, and the gts runs cooler. Also, these days onbard sound is almost as good as any sound card, so most people don't even buy sound cards anymore.
Reply:I assume what you are asking means that it will be mostly used for gaming. The best video card right now is AMD 3870X2 or Nvidia 8800 Ultra. Those two cost 500+. The best value right now is the 8800GT, 8800GTS, and the 3870. As for sound cards, X-Fi from creative labs. There are contenders but they are way too expensive. And 1350 for a comp that plays games is about average. As long as your computer has a PCI-E and PCI slots, they will work.

Can i use two sound cards on my laptop at same time?

Like if i'm playing a song and can hear it from both of the cards at same time?

Can i use two sound cards on my laptop at same time?
you can install two cards if you want but you can only use one at a time unless there is a setting in BIOS which will allow you to listen to both cards at the same time and I really doubt that you have this setting.
