Can i use two sound cards on my laptop at same time?

Like if i'm playing a song and can hear it from both of the cards at same time?

Can i use two sound cards on my laptop at same time?
you can install two cards if you want but you can only use one at a time unless there is a setting in BIOS which will allow you to listen to both cards at the same time and I really doubt that you have this setting.

My computer registers my speakers now that i installed my sound card but i cant hear anything what happening?
Either right-click on the sound icon in the sys tray (by the clock) or in the control panel and choose sound. the sound and voice tabs should list for playback and recording. Choose the sound card for both and hit apply. Also make sure to check the volume levels for the device and nothing is muted. You should not have to reboot after this, but it may help to restart any programs that use sound like instant messenger(s).
Reply:Make sure any mobo sound is disabled, and that you have drives installed for the sound card.

My sound card can play sound in windows media but not on the internet?

Hello,

Just recently ive installed a PCI Sound Card into my computer, now i installed the driver propertly and the sound card is working, but the sound is only playing in Windows Media Player, when i try to play sound from Bebo or YouTube im not hearing nothing even know the sound it full up on the speakers and computer.

Eairlier someone told me to uninstall the card, to remove it and start the computer up again, disable the Motherboard Sound card by DOS in which i did, then put your new sound card back in and reinstall the drivers but the same problem occurs, i also tryied downloading Flash 9 again that plays the video and sounds but its not helping.

At the moment i have the motherboard soundcard disabled, is there any way in making the PCI soundcard the Default?

Once again i cant hear sound from the internet, but i can hear sound from Windows Media Player.

Does anyone know?

My sound card can play sound in windows media but not on the internet?
I know this is not funny cause i just had the same problem myself on my GF pc. Go into ur BIOS setting,on speakers settings turn it on,reboot pc %26amp; come back into Control panel %26amp; see if ur new sound card is in there under each tab,it wont be under the very first one tho cause it is just Gen.Info.If it is there %26amp; not viewable set each one to ur new SC name,on the bottom click Default or use as Default. After ur done with ur settings go to START, programs, Acc, Entertainment %26amp; sound recorder %26amp; try ur mic %26amp; speakers from there. If they work go to a room %26amp; try em in it. IF u still dont have it online uninstall ur yahoo messenger %26amp; down grade to the 7.0 messenger.

How do ii find out what sound card i have?
Open the side panel of your PC, and then find the sound card. It should be on the board somewhere. If it is integrated into the motherboard, then that might be a little more difficult. If your PC was manufactured by HP, Dell, etc. , what I would do is go to that manufacturers website and go to their support site, and find the correct driver.
Reply:If you have a cd that came along with computer, try installing the most common chipset controllers like c-media, realtek, via. If using winxp, intall the ones made for xp. If your system is based on Vista, install the drivers for Vista.

If you don't know where is that cd, then open the pc and see the south chipset, the one at right bottom. Write its number and look its controller(driver) on the internet.

If you see any electronic card, on the pci slots (the yellow slots fitted at the bottom and back of the mainboard, then install that card, not the chipset. (or you can install both). By the way, tighten the card just in case is loosen.

If it says creative labs, then write the chip number and search on their web site. The same with other brands.

Good luck

How do you tell if your sound card is crashed or your speakers are crashed?

How do you tell if they have crashed(not just by not hearing anything), like if i open up my comp, will i be able to notice if the speakers or sound card is crashed??

How do you tell if your sound card is crashed or your speakers are crashed?
Open your control panel (Start%26gt;Control panel%26gt;System%26gt;Hardware%26gt;device manager%26gt;sound, video and game controllers) and see if there any yellow !'s or red x's next to the name of your sound card. if there are your drivers are corrupt, missing or need to be updated.
Reply:I've tried everything seems all ok in the device manager there's no yellow/red x and have also tried connecting speakers to other device which also seems to be working fine, still can't figure out what the problem is before reinstalling XP had no problem at all. Please Help don't know what to do? Report Abuse

Reply:To know if your sound card is working problem, you could look at it's properties and see if it's working properly.....

To know if your speakers are ok, attach them to another computer.

How to connect a 4.1 surround system speakers to my 5.1 sound card?
What i did was plug everything in and change the settings of your sound card. That should do it. All the 5.1 means is that it can support upto 5.1 speakers. Also make sure everythings turned on and you've put the right wires in the right places!

Sound cards and tape drives?

Doing a bit of my A+ theory homework, one of the questions is:

Your sound card works fine until you start a parallel port tape drive to backup your system. your system locks up, why?
