I need to change my sound card. i want to know if i can take one sound card out of a old hardrive, and put it in the one i am using now. if i can how will i install the new drivers.
Can you change sound cards from one computer to another.?
as long as the card is compatible with the other motherboard. drivers should install from operating system or if not goto manuf. website, or maybe you have the disk
Reply:Note:
1) hard drive is the device used to store all of the computers data on, the system is what you mean
yes you can so long as your motherboard can handle it. seeing as how it sounds like you already have the card try it and if it dont fit or work, then your answer is no. if it does work then google the sound card model with the words driver download after it to find the drivers, or go direct to the manufacturers site. they should have an archive of all their drivers
Reply:yes you can take a soundcard from one computer and install it in another one. as far as the driver goes if you no longer have the disk it came with you can usually download the drivers from the manufactures web site if they dont have it then try driverguide.com
