I had a quick look and couldnt see anything significant in the specifications.

The difference between the two is sound quality. The Creative Sound Blaster X-FI XtremeGamer (2nd link) has Multi Channel imput, and crystalized technology. This means that you will get no muffle, hear sound exactly how it is outputed. The first link doesn't specify the features that the 2nd link has. If I were you i would get the second one.
