How can I tell what kind of sound card I have?

I got a sound card from my old broken computer and want to use it on my new computer. I don't know where any of the original software is and I don't know what kind of sound card it is. I've been told to go to the sound card's manufaacturer's website. Can anyone tell me how to tell what kind of sound card it is, and if there are any easier ways to download a driver?

Pull the card out from your old computer and take a look at the manufacturer on the card itself. My bet is that you have a sound blaster, in which you can go directly to their download site that I've placed in the source link. Usually the card itself will have the make and model of the card.
