Sound cards + video cards general research questions?

Hi, I'd like to ask the following about sound cards and video cards for a research project:

1) What companies dominate the sound card and/or video card industry (i.e. What company(ies) seem to be selling the most sound cards or video cards or are the most popular choices)?

2) What is the average price (CND or USD) of a sound card or video card?

All help will be greatly appreciated. Thank-you!

Sound cards + video cards general research questions?
If you mean "chipset" for video cards, the two most commonly talked about are ATI and Nvidia. These chipsets are found on many manufacturer's cards, however--from MSI to Asus and beyond.

Creative Soundblaster still leads the industry standard for soundcards.

Video graphics cards vary in price according to both popularity and features. Entry-level cards (the type most frequently placed in computer builds in order to keep costs down) seem to average right around $50, while some gaming cards can go clean up to $400-$500 depending on the retailer and features offered.

One of the more popular online retailers is Newegg.com, and it'd be my recommendation to check them out for a more thorough answer.
Reply:Video cards: ATI and Nvidia are the two main competitors, there is really no other contenders.

Sound cards: Creative, Soundmax and Turtle Beach.

Average price...

It all depends on the performance range.

I can't really say what the Average price is.

That is like asking "how much does the average automobile cost?"
