I've been using Windows 98 SE for almost eight years now, and I'm upgrading my old computer, which is a Pentium II, to a used Pentium III, I don't have that much money to buy a new Pentium IV PC, so I'm thinking of using a Linux operating system, since one of my friends says that Linux is less susceptible to viruses than Windows, and I don't wanna pay Bill Gates anymore...
I'm thinking of re-using my old graphics and sound cards from my old Pentium II, so my graphics card is a Diamond Stealth II G460 and my sound card is a Diamond Sonic Impact S70 ESS Maestro2 PCI, so my question is, will these old graphics and sound cards work on a Linux operating system, and will the device drivers for this cards be compatible on Linux?
Can my graphics and sound cards work on a Linux operating system?
yes every sound card and graphic card will work on linux just have to download linux drivers

Reply:www.google.com "yourdistro yoursoundcard" will tell you if there are any issues with your soundcard, likewise "yourdistro yourvideocard" will tell you about any potential video issues.
You can use linux in place of yourdistro if you want to find out about linux in general.
