How do I find out what sound card my computer has?

I'm having problems with my audio drivers and devices... and I don't really know what I'm doing. How do I tell what sound card my computer has? And if you can help me, Realtek AC'97 isn't working right, can you tell me another audio driver/device?

How do I find out what sound card my computer has?
Two very good free programs that give lots of information about your computer is:

Everest Home:

Belarc Advisor:

Last one will also find all you Product Keys and tell you how secure your system is among other information.

Reply:go to start, right click my computer, properties, hardware tab, device manager, choose audio from list, there it should say what kind you have.
Reply:Download CPU-Z,(1.42 version), from CPUID.com It's a teeny little program that will tell you all about the internals of your computer,(no spyware, viruses, etc.) I'll bet you have Onboard,(or integrated), sound on the motherboard. The Realtek AC'97 is the driver for it.
Reply:to find out what kind of sound card you have is just simply open your computer case and see what brand of your sound card you have. But most motherboard right now has built in audio device, If so try to search the driver in hp compaq presario site to download the driver/ installer you needed. you can restore also the original drivers, see documentation below..

hope it will help you!!!
