Back before I format'd my comp, I ran two sound cards - The integrated one, and a SB Live 24! bit PCI slot. They worked together - One broadcaster music/websites to my speakers (The SB) the other transmitted Vent to my head-set.
After I format'd it no longer works. Whenever sound is going through both of them, the system locks up for a while, or lags A LOT.
I'm not 100% sure what could be so different between then, and now. Most people have never done it, so they say it isn't possible, but it definetly is, some how.
I read something about the IRQ's could be the same for both, and that causes it to not work. But none of the IRQ's are the same. Anyone familiar with this issue? Thanks.
Dual Sound Cards.?
Why do you feel the need to have 2 sound cards? Most people get by with just 1!!
Reply:When you formatted you probably lost the driver for the internal sound card. Or after formatting you did not re-program the PCI card.
Reply:well...check your drivers %26amp; be sure they are the right ones....
another thing is that if you have newer drivers than the ones from b4 you formatted they could be conflicting...
thats my guess
