Want to add 6 sound cards to single PC?
ive had an issue where i wanted to connect multiple devices to my computer's sound card. Using multiple sound cards will be a waste of money, and probably wont even work well.

My suggestion (and I did this), was purchase 'headphone splitters' (also known as Y Spiltter).. they are about $5 USD i think. http://altura.speedera.net/ccimg.catalog... , belkin makes some nice ones.

Plug one into a sound card, and then plug more into the new slots where needed. I suggest you get gold plated ones, and made by a decent brand, such as Belkin, or sony (though may be expensive - so see what your local electronics store suggests).. becuase sound quailty MAY be lost in some cases.

Good luck.
Reply:You dont need 6 sound cards just to do that. They have single sound cards now adays that have mutiple line-out (sound) outputs.
Reply:what the other person said, also, most computers dont have 6 extra ports on the motherboard to add on. best option is to just get a spliter.
Reply:You won't be able to since you will run into port conflicts unless you know how to change them, which i'm assuming you don't know how to since you asked a question like this.
Reply:Basically you can add as many sound cards as you can as long as there's an extra PCI slot in your motherboard but I think you can use only one at a time.
Reply:It won't work as you don't have enough I/O addresses, IRQ and DMA available..

The splitter is a good solution...
Reply:Ok , look we are PRO . If you need help, then say it. We ask for help when we need it. ok

Six sound cards are a mistake. If you need to make a home studio. Then all you is Creative Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor or EMUs 1820 M, EMU 0404. Professionals uses these.

And you dont need six different programs. All you need is Cakewalk Kinetic or Soundscape or Cakewalk Home Studio or Emulator X, Or Steinberg Cubase SX OR Adobe Audition. Any one Will do.
Reply:why???? I don't see the reason, and good luck with that, just don't see that working
Reply:1. simply purchase six USB speakers, each one will act as a sound card, then you can listen to what ever you want,.

2. you can purchase 5 different PCI sound cards, cause the motherboards as I think doesn't have more than 5 PCI slots,

3. purchase the Creative Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor or EMUs 1820 M, which is for audio editing.

4. the cheapest way is to have a mixing software which can handle 8 inputs and select which to output to a speaker at a time.
