How can I figure out what sound card driver I need?

I reformatted my computer and I'm not sure what driver I need. I'm 70% sure I have a dedicated sound card. Opening my computer to check out the manufacturer is not really an option because its a laptop. I also download Sandra Lite. All it says in hardware for audio devices is my modem and Microsoft Sound Mapper.

How can I figure out what sound card driver I need?
Start/run

Type 'dxdiag' into the field

Open the Sound tab

Your sound card manufacturer and model will be listed there

Go to their website and D/L it.
Reply:Try an automatic driver locator/updater utility:

http://www.officialdrivers.com

Hope this helps...
