Graphics card & sound cards...?

I'm on a budget but looking for a good graphics card and sound card for my PC. I require something that will last a while also. Any suggestions on what type/make to go for? I've also started seeing USB sound cards etc, can anyone advise me on these?

Graphics card %26amp; sound cards...?
This really depends what you have in your PC. Graphics cards come in 3 flavours ......

PCI which is nearly extinct

AGP which is dying but are still made and there some really good budget boards about but beware AGP comes at 1x, 2x, 4x and 8x speed and depends on your motherboard specs so I would look it up.

PCI Express is the new kid which (board allowing) can join up to graphics cards.

The next choice is how powerful, you can spend silly money but you can get really good cards for under £120 with 128 or 256 Mb of RAM.

As I say the choice is really dependent on what you are able to install and I find the reviews on Aria or Amazon helpful.

As for sound cards wether it be PCI or USB I find the onboard sound on most PC more than adequate and sound cards are really only needed for a full multi-media setup so I would rather get a decent Graphics card and worry later if you really need the extra ooomph that a sound card can produce.

A cheap option is to check wether your motherboard manufacturer has any new drivers and software which could enhance your audio experience.
Reply:Hi, and I hope this will lead you to a wise decision. First you need to know what kind of graphics card your computer will allow. You can do this from cmos, or by opening the case. If you have a brownish colored slot in your motherboard or if cmos says agp for a graphics controller, than by all means you want to use an AGP (advanced graphics) card. You can buy Gforce rather inexpensively, but I would recommend atleast a 32 meg card. If you are going to be gaming it, then go no less than a 64 meg. For the sound, anything that is SoundBlaster compatible will do you the best. For both of these go to http://www.pricewatch.com for the best prices. Just pay attention to the cost of shipping, because that is part of the overall price. You can also try to find them on eBay, but they will probably be used and may have been someone else's headache. As well, I have some used sound and video cards available cheap, as I am closing my shop. Go to http://www.cortlandpc.com to see what all I have.
Reply:i prefer u buy geforce VGA card series

Reply:press alt + gr during boot up and wait all day.......
