How do ii find out what sound card i have?
Open the side panel of your PC, and then find the sound card. It should be on the board somewhere. If it is integrated into the motherboard, then that might be a little more difficult. If your PC was manufactured by HP, Dell, etc. , what I would do is go to that manufacturers website and go to their support site, and find the correct driver.
Reply:If you have a cd that came along with computer, try installing the most common chipset controllers like c-media, realtek, via. If using winxp, intall the ones made for xp. If your system is based on Vista, install the drivers for Vista.

If you don't know where is that cd, then open the pc and see the south chipset, the one at right bottom. Write its number and look its controller(driver) on the internet.

If you see any electronic card, on the pci slots (the yellow slots fitted at the bottom and back of the mainboard, then install that card, not the chipset. (or you can install both). By the way, tighten the card just in case is loosen.

If it says creative labs, then write the chip number and search on their web site. The same with other brands.

Good luck
