Is it possible to install a sound card in a pc if the software is lost?

Is it possible to download the right software for the sound card in my pc online? and if so, how do I find out which software and from where to download? If downloading isn't possible is there another possible way to do it?

Yes, you just need to find the right driver. Look on the sound card to find out the manufacturer. You can either go to the manufacturer's website and download the audio driver or you can type in the manufacturer and the name of the sound card if you know it to into google and look for a driver that way.
Reply:Your computer should have the drivers for a sound card built in. If it doesn't you can go on line and download drivers if you know what the make is.
Reply:If there is no available drivers ie: no downloads- you can install a sound card provided you disable the on-board audio device in the BIOS or uninstall it in device manager.

Else go to drivers.com and find the appropriate driver for your sound card. others include.--%26gt; driverguide.com, pcdrivers.com, downloadpcdrivers.com, windrivers.com etc-- just type drivers in google search.
Reply:Yes, you can. You can use a program called PC Wizard ( http://www.cpuid.com/pcwizard.php ) to find out the brand and model name of your sound card. After that, do a Google search for the drivers.
