I need to install the driver of my sound card which is built-in the motherboard but the problem is that I dont know which sound card is in my pc. I have conatcted the motherboard manufacturer and tried to identify the sound chip by looking at the motherboard but all to no avail. Is there any software utility or any other way I can identify my sound card?
How can I identify my sound card?
try doing a windows update and the utility should update through microsofts web site...
Reply:go to device manager and check out the soundcard model
press win+pause break , go to hardware, then to device manager , this will list all the hardware connected. Yellow question mark indicates improperly installed drivers . check out ur soundchip under the audio heading and install proper drivers..
Reply:go to run
type "dxdiag" with out commas
press YES if asked
a new window will be opened.. it will scan ur system for hardwares
click on the sound tab
u will fid the model and driver version of ur sound card there...
OR u can search for model number of ur mother board on internet... since it is bulit in...u can found the name of ur soundcard easily
