I have a dell laptop and my dad accidentally deleted all the sound drivers. I can't figure out what sound card is inside so I can reinstall them. On a side note, video isn't working in IE but it is in noninternet apps and in FF.
How can I tell what sound card my computer has?
Go to start, right click my computer, click manage and click device manager if you are using Windows XP
Reply:go to the dell web site and type in the model of your laptop in the support section and download all needed drivers.
Reply:The Belarc advisor will tell you what hardware you have. You can download the Belarc advisor, at http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
That is, if you can get anything to run on the Internet. If your graphics won't show the Internet, you could get on a friend's computer, download the program to a disk, and run it on your computer.
You could try re-installing Windows. That might work. Granted, it would probably install generic drivers, but it would do its best to find them. That also should make IE show up again.
Reply:More than likely you will have a VIA chipset for your audio, you can download their universal driver from http://www.viaarena.com/default.aspx?Pag... for windows XP and
http://www.viaarena.com/default.aspx?Pag...
for the windows vista version. IF that doesn't do the trick you cna always search dell.com or google.com for your computer's model number then download the drivers from there.
