How to temporarily turn off a sound card?

I have a built In speaker In my computer and I have some stereo speakers that are hooks through a sound card called E-DSP...I have to continuously take It out In order to record...Is there a way I could Just turn It off If I wanted to and turn It back on when I wanted to...Please help...Thanks In Advance

How to temporarily turn off a sound card?
Go to start/control panel click on sound the in new window click on speaker volume. drag the sliders to the left, or use sound cards software to mute them.
Reply:You could disable the device in your device manager.
