Is the sound processed through your sound card when using a USB headset ?

I have a high end sound card. Will there be a disadvantage to using a usb headset%26gt;

No matter what, as long as there is sound, it is processed with the sound card. It does not matter if it is plugged into the USB port. Therefore, to your second question: no, there will not be disadvantages to use a USB headset, at least none that you can notice.


(Technically, there are some, because there is a gap between the sound card itself and the USB interface. However, none of that can be detected by the human ear. Only a testing hardware or software can detect that.)


For most computers, you cannot see the sound card clearly, because nowadays, it is integrated almost all the time into the motherboard.


That is, unless, there is a add-on sound card in the computer, such as a Creative Sound Blaster.
Reply:USB headsets uses USB to deliver the digital signal, hence normally bypass the sound card.
